This 2 in 1 Android Convertible is extremely cheap for a convertible but is it worth the money?
The Asus transformer pad TF103 is a budget 2 in 1 convertible with specs that won't blow you away. To start off this tablet has a 10.1 inch LED Backlight WXGA (1280x800) Screen. This resolution is just too low for a 10" tablet although it might be alright for a 7 inch tablet. Its has an IPS Panel with 10 finger multi-touch support and Anti-fingerprint coating.
This tablet uses the Intel® Atom™ Z3745 Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.33 GHz, with turbo boost up to 1.86 GHz. This also supports 64bit. A huge dissapointment is the 1GB of RAM which is too little now for multitasking. It also comes with 8GB or 16GB of internal eMMC Storage.
This device comes with WLAN802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth V4.0, and
Support for Miracast. It also comes with G-Sensor and E-compass sensor. It uses GPS & GLONASS for navigation and comes in colours of White and Black.
The Tablet itself has a Micro USB slot, a Micro SD card slot and a 2 in 1 Headphone/Microphone Jack. The dock itself has a Full side USB Port. Asus has included a 19Wh Li-Polymer Battery which ASUS says will last 9.5 Hours.
This tablet has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. This is just terrible. 2MP rear? Images look horrible and for a fact there are cheaper tablets with front facing 2MP cameras, not rear. 0.3MP is just too 2009 style. Its simply too low for anything. This tablet runs android 4.4 right out of the box which is nice.
The tablet measures 257.46 x 178.4 x 9.9 mm (WxDxH) and weighs 550g while the dock measures 257.46 x 178.4 x 19.8 mm and that itself weights 550g as well. This adds up to a total of Dimensions: 257.4 x 178.4 x 19.8mm and a total weight of 1100g. This is just too thick and heavy.
One thing i will say is well done to ASUS for trying something innovative . Something some people who don't want to spend much money on but want the keyboard can use. It is not the best device but lets keep in mind this device was not meant to be the best but rather, with compromise make one that is suitable for people who don't want to spend to much money.
